Vijay Kumar                      In 1983, the United Nations set up the World Commission on Environment and Development called 'the Brundtland Commission' to examine the problems related to this area. The Commission in its report entitled "Our Common Future" published in 1987, used and defined this concept of Sustainable Development for the first time by Ms. Gro Harlem Brundtland, the then Prime Minister of Norway and the chair of the World Commission on Environment and Development (WCED) as “Meeting the needs of present generation without compromising with the needs of future generations.” In order to be sustainable, development must combine three main elements: fairness, protection of the environment, and economic efficiency. జీవన వేదం                                                                                                         -డా . యస్. విజయ్ కుమార్           జీవనం అంటే జీవిత విధానం , వేదం అంటే విజ్ఞానం (Knowledge). జీవితాలను సార్థకం చేసుకోవడానికి కావలసిన విజ్ఞానాన్ని సంపాదించుకోవడమే జీవన వేదం అంటారు. నేడు జీవితమంటే, ఇంద్రియ సుఖాలను అనుభవించడమే అన్నభావన యువతలో బాగా నాటుకుపోయింది . ఆ భావాలు నుండి బయటకు రావాలి . ఇంద్రియాల ద్వారా పొందే ఆనందం అల్ప మైందని , శాశ్వతం కాదని గ్రహించాలి . ఇంద్రియాలకు మనసుకు ,  బుద్ధికి ఆవల ఉన్న పరమాత్మను తెలుసుకోవడం వలన శాశ్వత ఆనందాన్ని పొందగలమని మన మహర్షులు చెప్పిన నగ్నసత్యం అర్థం చేసుకోవాలి .   స్థితప్రజ్ఞుడు తన ఇంద్రియాలను ఇంద్రియార్థాల నుండి మరల్చుకో గలడు . ఇంద్రియాలకు స్వేచ్ఛను ఇవ్వడమే మన బలహీనత , ఇంద్రియాల నుండి స్వేచ్ఛను పొందడం వల్ల శారీరక బలం , మానసిక ప్రశాంతత లభిస్తాయి . విచ్చలవిడితనం మితిమీరుతున్న నేటి కాలంలో యువత ఇంద్రియనిగ్రహాన్ని హాస్యాస్పదంగా భావిస్తున్నది . అంతర్జాలం (Internet
